The original film was talked about at great length several times over the years at our forums because of the girl's wonderful short dresses & pigtails.
Beware there is a made for TV remake of this film. It isn't as good as the original, the girl's dresses aren't as pretty, & there are no pigtails.
There's actually a musical of this film. The girl is played by an adult... sometimes male, with pretty dresses & pigtails.
They've also begun producing a SECOND remake this year (2007). No details are available yet though, or perhaps it's a film of the musical. We can hope pigtails & lots of pretty frilly dresses are included.
